The GiftThe GiftThe Gift won Honorable Mention in it's own right in the Nature - Wildlife category, in addition winning Honorable Mention as part of the series "A Stolen gift for his Mate", in the 2015 International Photography Awards.

During the Professional Photographers of America's 2015 International Photographic Competition a panel of 43 eminent jurors from across the United States selected this image under the title "A Gift for His Mate" for the esteemed Loan Collection—the best of the best.

"A Gift for His Mate" will be in the International Photographic Exhibition alongside other top photographic works from the competition and traveling and special invitational displays. These images constitute one of the world's largest annual exhibits of professional photography gathered simultaneously under one roof. "A Gift for His Mate" will be published in the much-anticipated "Loan Collection" book book by Marathon Press.
I watched this Great Blue heron steal a fresh pine branch from another heron's nest and fly back to his own nest. He leaned down as if presenting it to his mate, then flew down and passed the branch off to her and watched as she placed it in the nest.

A Stolen Gift for His Mate is a series of images submitted to The 2015 International Photography Awards (IPA). The 2015 IPA received nearly 15,000 submissions from 103 countries across the globe and is pleased to declare that Nancy Graupner was awarded Honorable Mention in Nature - Wildlife category for the winning series "A Stolen Gift for His Mate"
